Planes: I Can Do This! (MLP Style)

Felt like drawing ponies. Well a pony.

I try not to ponify I everything I watch but some times it can be fun. This time around Planes is the victim. More in particular Dusty. Now note I have seen others do it, I just wanted to give my own spin to it. Here... Dusty... is an EARTH Pony. But has been taught to fly in order to do crop dusting with Machnical Wings that were given to him at a young age. They aren't permanently attached they can come off. They run off an engine (powered by magic since this is the MLP world.) and are controlled by neurological implants that were put into Dusty's spine. So he's a farm pony... When it came to racing in the Wings Around Equestria Rally... he got laughed at. Big time. It's race meant for born flyers, not artificial ones like himself. (Which for this setting Crop Duster Ponies are all artificial flyers so they are looked down upon.) Under the careful training of Skipper he proves them wrong in showing he can be just as great of a flyer even with artificial wings.... Now if he could only get over his fear of heights.

I want to give a special thanks for She inspired the concepts I have here with her Equids version of Planes with Dusty having mechnical wings. Seriously go check out her stuff.

Designing Dusty was little trick but then I settled on a Clydesdale design. (They're one of my favorite kinds of horse.) His wings got their colors from his paint job and as for the shoes... They're for protection. I know in Wonder Bolts Academy they could do screeching halts without hurting themselves but for Dusty's case... I just imagine his hooves would be more sensitive since he isn't a born pegasai. Also the ponies who compete in the Wings Around Equestria Rally are going at monstrous speeds so screeching halts are gonna hurt. Cutie mark I settled on the D7 symbol we see on his tail. Finally the Jolly Wrenches insignia. It's just a cuff, not tattoos here. And they are still a thing. The Jolly Wrenches are one of the few flight squadrons to use tech in gaining more speed in flight. Are they as well known as the Wonder Bolts...? Nope. In fact they're kind of obscure due to their main purpose being military needs. On top of that they aren't just pegasai. They got griffons, dragons, and other flying creatures working together. So... they can be intimating... I wouldn't be surprised if Celestia ordered they keep quiet for the sake of not frightening ponies. 

And I'm rambling. Sorry about that. I love world building. So that about wraps this up. I might do more but that's debatable since I have to be in the mood when it comes to drawing certain things. Ponies is definitely one of those things I really have to be in the mood for.
