Cars: Lightning Mc'Queen

Well that happened. For once it isn't a Planes character.

Instead, we got one of my favorite characters from my childhood. Lightning McQueen!

I still remember the year Cars came out. I was really little and well... I just remember how much I adored the movie when it came out. (Still do.) I watched over and over again and loved listening to the music, even tried drawing Lightning a few times. (Not very well though.) Now here I am about 8 years later drawing him again but more professionally. Though can't say this is the first time I've drawn him in awhile. I've drawn him for two commissions but this is my best one honestly.

What makes me so happy about this picture? The DETAILS. Oh my gosh I'm so happy to have all the details correct this time. He's got his stickers, his signature, his decals just... everything. I'm happy with everything.

I didn't want to do all his paint jobs so I just went with the one I liked the most and that paint job is the one we see in the opening scenes of Cars 2. I just love the design. It's so simple but creative. Ramone's genius no doubt.

But yeah, over all, it's the fact I got all the details that makes me really happy with how this came out. Cars are still a weak point I'm working on. I'm getting better though.
